Two Varieties Available for 2007-2008 There are 2 vibrant performers in the Vista Series:
Supertunia® Vista Bubblegum It's based on a very simple principle which Proven Winners® set in stone from the beginning, trialed varieties must meet a very strict list of criteria before they can become a Proven Winners® plant. The criteria now reaches a step further into the Vista Series to ensure these are the most vigorous, profuse blooming, top performing landscape petunias that money can buy!
Performance In Smaller Containers Such an aggressive landscape performer! How they perform in smaller containers such as our Branded Proven Winners® 4.50 container is equally important. Thanks to Four Star's exclusive Supernova® 42 liners, growers will have great success with controlled growth and early flowering, making this an ideal plant for retail.
They say a picture is worth 1000 words, the aggressive growth of Supertunia® Vista creates a display unmatched in petunias. The profuse flower power provides gardeners a full display of color throughout the entire summer season and even into the cooler months.
Performance In Hanging Baskets The use of Supertunia® Vista in a hanging basket is an obvious pleasure. A vigorous grower, you'll just want to be careful when combining with other varieties. Four Star's Vigor Rating Index was designed for varieties like this, allowing you to know the vigor of other varieties that will combine well, and not get over-taken. Performance In Upright Containers Another great option, when combining other varieties with Vista is to use our NEW Supernova® 28 Thriller™ Liners, a new larger liner offered exclusively from Four Star, providing a more established plant that you can use as the center "Thriller" in combination, which is less likely to be over-taken. Purple Fountain Grass shown in the upright combination below was started from our Supernova 28 Thriller liner size, giving it the fighting chance it needed. If you look hard, you'll also notice Totally Tempted, using standard 84 liners, although attractive in the combination during the young stages, it was certain overtaken as the season progressed. I guess this makes this a good example of the "Right" and the "Not So Right"way to combine plants. View our large selection of Combo Ideas Online.
You might wonder... Why did I save the best for last? The Supertunia® Vista series selection is focused on varieties that will out-shine any other in the landscape, so I figured if I showed this first you might not go any further. Again, I'll repeat myself by saying that photos are worth 1000 words. Supertunia® Vista Bubblegum and Fuchsia can reach heights of 24" with an overall 5' spread (2.5' out from center of plant). The closer you plant them, like most other plants, the more full your landscape beds will be sooner, we suggest giving them some additional space compared to other varieties, but regardless of what you do, they will fill in.
Compare Supertunia Vista Vs. Competition Varieties We're often asked, How does Supertunia® Vista compare to Wave Petunias? We truly believe in our product, and have seen and heard many testimonials that Supertunia® Vista has a much higher weather tolerance, bounces back sooner and has a stronger, more full habit. We set out this past spring to do some side by side comparisons against other popular varieties to see for ourselves. Here are the results of some of the trials we did, we encourage you to do your own trials if you wish and are confident you'll be insisting on Supertunia® Vista for your production.
